Factors to Consider When Choosing the Perfect Cookware

Second, cast iron and ferretic steel are great heat conductors and cook evenly. They also lasts for a long time and doesn't dent or break easily. The thing to watch for in cast iron is that it is very porous and food and grease remain in the pan from one meal to the next. It doesn't seem very sanitary does it? Cast iron and ferretic steel are great heat conductors and cook food more evenly than any other type of cookware. It is apparent that these two cook evenly when you cook cornbread. It is perfectly golden brown all over.

Third, aluminum heats up very quickly like stainless steel and is inexpensive. Unfortunately, it is a soft metal, which sometimes develops pitting. In addition, it gets hot spots and scorching. Aluminum has also been linked to disease such as Alzheimer's. Some people refuse to wear deodorant with aluminum out of fear for health risks. The information on this is not conclusive, however, it is probably wise to do your own research here. Aluminum is a good choice for those with a tight budget and does heat up quickly.

Fourth, Non-stick is great when nothing sticks to it and tends to heat up quickly due to the aluminum is tends to be coupled with. Unfortunately, Non-stick doesn't always stick to the aluminum underneath it. You must take many precautions when cooking to maintain the integrity of the cookware. If you have an impatient man who goes for the fork instead of the wooden spoon, you could be eating Non-stick flakes in with your dinner. The non-stick coating comes out easily if you don't use wooden or plastic utensils. Non-stick is great, however, when well maintained for the non-stick quality and ease of cleaning.

Lastly, glass is a great heat insulator. It cooks extremely evenly in the oven where heat comes from all four sides. However, it doesn't conduct heat evenly, develops hot spots and sometimes breaks. You cannot go from the refrigerator to the stove because it could burst from the rapid change in temperature. It is great for baking, however.

In conclusion, a combination between stainless steel and cast iron makes the most sense for my family. It has a sanitary surface and lasting beauty with the stainless and even heating and durability with the cast iron.
